Heating Options For Your Home

Family enjoying the heat indoors

Winter is coming, and with it the icy temperatures that you’ve come to expect in the Griffith, Porter County, and Northwest Indiana area. If you’re looking for a new way to heat your home this winter, Meyer’s Companies has plenty of options for you. We’ll be happy to assess your space and your heating needs this winter, and we’ll make sure that you have the right heating system for your home or business.

Heat Pumps

Geothermal heat pumps use the earth’s natural energy to heat your home. A heat pump uses a reverse coolant system to exchange heat from the outside to the inside, slowly drawing the cold air out like a reverse air conditioner while using the refrigeration cycle to exchange thermal energy. Heat pumps provide heating and cooling systems in a single versatile unit, and come with options like multi-speed or variable-speed settings. They also use a filter drier system for more control over the texture of the air, as well as a 10-year limited warranty. Efficiency does up to 20.5 SEER. Heat pumps are best for moderate climates, or for smaller spaces that don’t need heavy heating.

Furnaces

Furnaces come in gas and oil, and are one of the most efficient heating systems you can buy. The AFUE rating of a gas furnace can go up to an impressive 98.5, while the AFUE rating of an oil furnace can go up to 86. They use a valve to inject a precise amount of fuel into the burner, heating up the air inside to the level needed to warm your home to the desired temperature. Furnaces are great options for heating a home or business, with plenty of options for every unique heating need. Most furnaces are made to be compatible with central heating systems, blowing warm air throughout the building. You can choose a number of features from Bryant Systems such as modulating gas valve technology for easy temperature adjustment, multi-speed blowers for faster heating or temperature maintenance, and proprietary heat exchanger technology that helps save you energy.
