Meyer’s Company Takes Care of Highland’s Air Conditioning Needs
In the heat and humidity of the Indiana summer, a central air conditioning system can provide the relief you need while improving the quality of your house’s air. Meyer’s Company is proud to serve the Highland and Northwest Indiana area as a leader in air conditioning repair and installation. We are happy to help you take care of your current air conditioner or replace your older system.
What Air Conditioner Is Best for Me?
All air conditioners work on the same basic principles. Each unit uses a fan to pull hot air from your home into the unit. The hot air is blown across a coil that contains a super cooled refrigerant liquid, and then the resulting cold air is blown back out into your home.
There are three main kinds of air conditioners:
- Split System: This type of unit has two parts. The outdoor condensing unit stays just outside your home, while the indoor furnace or air handler deals with the air inside your home. The two parts are connected by copper refrigerant lines. Split systems are a good choice for residential homes because they are quiet, and because it’s easy for a maintenance technician to find your unit outside.
- Package Unit: These units compress all of the equipment needed to condition your air into a single unit. They’re usually large, and should be placed on rooftops. These are great for commercial sites and businesses where indoor space may be limited.
- Heat Pumps: The heat pump functions as both furnace and air conditioner, using a reversing valve to change the direction that the refrigerant flows when you change your thermostat. Heat pumps are versatile, but are better for milder climates.
Installation
When you call Meyer’s to install your air conditioning unit, we’ll run load calculations first to figure out the right capacity requirements. It’s important to figure out the best design for your air conditioning unit, so that we can set up a model for you that will cool your entire building while not overloading your electrical system.
We’ll also seal and double strap all of the joints and connections so that your ductwork doesn’t bend, sag, or break.
Repair Service
We don’t just install your air conditioner–we’ll take
care of it for life. If your air conditioner breaks down in any weather,
we’ll immediately dispatch our NATE-certified technicians to diagnose
and repair your air conditioning woes. Our vans are kept stocked with
all the common parts we’ll need to complete the repair, so we can
